POSITION: Senior Development Officer
COMPENSATION: $40,000/yr
REPORTS TO: Managing Director
START DATE: Position open until filled
FLSA STATUS: Part-time/Hourly Wage

SUMMARY:
New Village Arts is currently seeking a Senior Development Officer to manage donor relations program and coordinate fundraising initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing our non-profit’s fundraising campaigns, communicating with current and prospective donors, and, in collaboration with the Executive Artistic Director and Managing Director, building a strong development system for our organization. This position will be instrumental in developing and executing a significant comprehensive campaign to solidify New Village Arts’ future home in Carlsbad. This position involves managing individual and corporate gifts as well as planned and annual giving campaigns. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and oversee annual fundraising program
• Identify prospective individual and corporate donors and develop strategies to cultivate those relationships
• Maintain ongoing communications with private and corporate donors
• Research donor relation programs at local, state and federal art institutions
• Ensure timely and accurate report deliveries to funders
• Collaborate with staff on the management and planning of fundraising events and donor receptions
• Develop print fundraising collateral in collaboration with our marketing department
• Represent the organization in the community in various capacities
• Support and collaborate with the Managing Director and Executive Artistic Director

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Communications or related field preferred
• 5+ years’ fundraising experience
• Expert knowledge in principles, practices, and procedures of charitable giving
• Foundation relationship and grant writing experience
• Familiarity with Development software and moves management
• Excellent written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills
