Roger Anderson Chorale Spring Concert

Get ready for the Roger Anderson Chorale’s spring concert “A Sense Of Renewal”.  Repertoire highlights take the audience on an international journey.

The chorale will be joined by internationally renowned dancer Gloria Lanuza and her dance company, Devine Desi Dance – Bollywood, San Diego ‘s professional Bollywood and fusion Indian Dance Company!  DDD will belly dance to two songs from Bollywood films, Jai Ho from “Slumdog Millionaire” and Ballelaikka from “Sivaaji” (The Boss).

Continuing on the concert’s international journey the chorale will sing selections by the Swedish a cappella quintet, The Real Group. With sounds and rhythms similar to the popular group, The Pentatonix, the chorale will welcome in Spring by performing Bumble Bee, a musical interpretation of bees in flight.

Returning to the USA, the chorale will sing Ute Sundance. Composer Valerie Naranjo (percussionist with NBC’s SNL Band) based her arrangement on the Ute Tribe’s song of renewal sung at the beginning of the new year and is one of the Ute’s most important rites of passage.  Debts, misunderstandings and grudges are forgiven, old negativity is swept out and a “sense of renewal” is possible for young and old alike.

Concerts are free and open to the public.  Please let us know you are coming by reserving your free tickets on www.eventbrite.com or call 760-522-7187.
