Filmgoers can now view a preview schedule of programming, which has been released on the festival’s website. Throughout the festival, attendees can look forward to the return of past favorite topics on display in the event’s lineup. This includes the subjects of environmentalism, art, romance, horror & the much beloved annual surf block.
In addition to the general programming, 2018 will be the first year the Oceanside Intl. Film Festival includes presentations of classic cinema accompanied by original live re-score inspired by the films. Renowned musical act Morricone Youth will be performing live original re-scores to both George A. Romero’s “Night of the Living Dead” (1968), as well as George Miller’s “Mad Max” (1979) on August 4th & 5th respectively. Having written and toured for nearly 20 years, festival staff looks forward to including the band’s exhibition as a special add-on to the festival’s overall schedule of events.

Lastly, OIFF will kick off on Wednesday, August 1 with a very special premiere screening of TNT’s crime drama, Animal Kingdom. The Opening Night episode features the directorial debut of star Shawn Hatosy, known by fans for playing the complicated eldest son “Pope” on the show. After the screening, Hatosy will appear in person for a Q & A session with audience attendees. Joining Hatosy on the Q&A panel will be Animal Kingdom co- star Carolina Guerra and co-executive producer and acclaimed writer Daniele Nathanson.  Attendees will preview episode 11 (“Jackpot”) of the popular TNT series from Warner Horizon Scripted Television one week before its televised premiere.
