The Museum of Making Music’s Summer Sounds Symposium kicks off with a keynote talk from Dr. Steven Eisenberg, a medical oncologist and Co-founder of cCare. After a near-death experience as a teenager, Dr. Eisenberg decided to dedicate his life to saving others. He believes that music, humor and heart can transform a patient’s journey and uses songs to connect with his patients.
Dr. Eisenberg will then be joined by a panel of experts to discuss the various ways we make healthy connections through music. Topics include music making across the lifespan, healing through music, music listening for Alzheimer’s/dementia patients, and the overall benefits of making music. Speakers from MUSIC & MEMORY, Guitars in the Classroom, and more will share their expertise and answer questions from the audience.
