This in-depth selection of the artist’s expansive practice from 1990 to present will draw visitors into the magic, curiosity, alchemy, escapism, humor, and beauty of Fred Tomaselli’s visual language. This exhibition will explore how Tomaselli’s well-known recent works reflect back to his upbringing and formative years in Southern California in the 1970s and ’80s when he witnessed the simultaneous implosion of modernism and utopian ideals of the ’60s. Curated by Rhonda Gawthrop.
