Workshop: Exploring Marisol Escobar’s Assemblage

Charissa Noble has combined her background as an opera singer, composer, and music theorist, along with her extensive studies in 20th Century American Art, to create the basis for her studies of the intersections of music and art. Her series of 3 lectures provide a direct, accessible look at controversial art and music in the 20th century by looking at the intersecting lives and artistic ideologies of artists and composers, posing the idea that the connections between modern art and music are, in fact, essential to understanding both. November 9: Post-war avant-garde cliques, 1945–1960: the radical art and political subtexts of Black Mountain College, the New York School, and early Fluxus.

Individual lectures: $12 for members / $17 for nonmembers
